How long have you been around?
We have been providing excellent service since 1975 and are widely regarded as one of the most experienced tour operators specializing in handling for upscale clientele.
What sort of business is At Thai Tours?
At Thai Tours is not a full service travel agency - rather, we are special tour operator exclusive handling for deluxe custom designed tours. All tours are designed for individual travelers, those, who wish to travel alone, as a couple, or friends and always include the service of a private guide. Independent travelers follow a unique Itinerary created to their preferences and specific interest.
What sort of person chooses to travel with At Thai Tours?
In two words -- deluxe and flexible. They tend to be deluxe, up-scale people interested in learning about other cultures. Call them "deluxe travelers" rather than "tourists." They do not want a mass-market experience but prefer the "special stuff" -being well taken care of and well treated as VIP. They are interested in getting off the beaten track to connect with the real Thailand.
Where do your travelers come from?
Our guests come from many spots in the U.S. and other countries as well. Many are from New York, Pennsylvania, and many in other places hear of us through friends who have toured with us and rave about the fun they had. Many of our guests are up-scale travelers from our U.S. base suppliers, deluxe custom designed Travel Agents.
How are your customs design tours different from other tours?
In many ways these tours are a better way to see Thailand than traveling on your own, unless you have lots of time to learn gradually the ins and outs of Thai culture by hit and miss. Because of the private vehicle and the most knowledgeable guide, we are able to go to places that would be difficult for you to get to on your own, even if you know where they are.
What kind of weather can I expect?
The average day is similar to a hot Californian summer day (80's to 90's), except that it will be more humid. Evenings, especially in the north, are likely to be nice and cool. In the hills and the mountainous Mae Hong Son province, there is a remote chance that we may even be surprised by some rather chilly nights and mornings. Daytime temperatures range from mid 70's to 90's, and nighttime temperatures, 60's to 80's, depending on which part of the country we are in. Thailand is a sunny country, so you will need to bring protection from the sun.
